Kids Beginner Sewing with Yolande- September and October/ Tuesdays at 3:30
Starting in September, we’re offering a 9-week sewing workshop for beginners ages 6–10 (September and October)
We’ll start at the very beginning—learning how to use a sewing machine safely and confidently, including starting and stopping without losing your thread, pedal control, and basic machine skills. As the weeks progress, we’ll slowly add new skills and techniques, always learning through fun, hands-on projects.
We’ll begin with simple projects like bookmarks, then work our way up to a fun stuffed cat and other creative surprises, all building to spark the joy of sewing.
Not only does sewing help develop fine motor control, finger dexterity, hand - eye coordination, it also fosters self confidence and problem solving skills to name just a drop in the bucket!

The Super Stitchers is a 3 month sewing workshop that will meet every Monday. In this class students will learn basic sewing fundamentals as well as machine maintenance and care. Each student will make multiple unique creations. Participants will have the opportunity to be part of our final presentation, PROJECT RUNWAY, GREENWOOD, with the members of the Teen Sewing Workshop.
The cost of this workshop has been offset by the generous donations of local community members and organizations.
