Starting in September, we’re offering a 9-week sewing workshop for beginners ages 6–10 (September and October)

We’ll start at the very beginning—learning how to use a sewing machine safely and confidently, including starting and stopping without losing your thread, pedal control, and basic machine skills. As the weeks progress, we’ll slowly add new skills and techniques, always learning through fun, hands-on projects.

We’ll begin with simple projects like bookmarks, then work our way up to a fun stuffed cat and other creative surprises, all building to spark the joy of sewing.

Not only does sewing help develop fine motor control, finger dexterity, hand - eye coordination, it also fosters self confidence and problem solving skills to name just a drop in the bucket!

Join ArtPlace Mississippi on Saturday, October 10th for a day of painting, creativity, and inspiration outdoors!

Teen artists will head outside to experience the landscape firsthand and learn the art of plein air painting—creating artwork directly from observation in the environment.

This engaging weekly class is designed specifically for homeschool students to explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and discover the joy of self-expression through the visual arts. Students will experiment with a variety of mediums—such as drawing, painting, collage,—while learning foundational art techniques, elements of design, and art history connections. Lessons are tailored to be age-appropriate and to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and individuality. Whether your child is a budding artist or just beginning their creative journey, this class offers a supportive, inspiring environment where imagination thrives.

Ages: 3 to 5

The class will meet on Wednesdays at 2:00 until 3:00. Registration is required. $100 for class registration.

Artist Beth Moses is adding sketching to her brushstrokes class.

The class will meet on 10 Mondays : August 17, 31 September 14, 28, October 12, 26, November 9, 23 , December7,21

Ages: 4 to 8

The children will be working in to learn proper brush strokes, mixing paints, sketching, drawing and painting.

Class time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

The cost of the workshop is $250 for the semester.
