Tuesdays mornings in May
10 am to noon.
Hey quilters!
Here’s what we’re working on for May: a simple log cabin quilt—one of the oldest designs and an absolute classic. It’s a great project whether you’re new or experienced.
Bring your fabric scraps, or come with fresh colors—either works perfectly. If you’re planning ahead, about two jelly rolls is a good estimate: one with lights and one with darks.
Layer cakes work just as well. You’ll want one set of light fabrics (whites, creams, or mostly light prints) and one set of darks. The key is contrast—having a clear group of lights and a clear group of darks will give your blocks that crisp definition.
Charm squares can be used for some of the strips, though not all.
If you’re going with a color theme, that’s great too—just keep the light/dark contrast in mind. For example, blues for your darks and yellows or whites for your lights would look beautiful.
I’ll bring a wide variety of fabrics to share, including lots of greens (in many shades), as well as other colors and plenty of light options.
