Beginning Metalsmithing and Jewelry Making

Join artist, Dana Finimore, March 17th and 18th, for a fun weekend of learning basic jewelry metalsmithing at ArtPlace Mississippi in historic downtown Greenwood! 

This beginner metal class will cover the fundamental steps of constructing small jewelry pieces in copper. Students will be instructed on the basics of metal cutting including dye cutting, annealing, sawing, fold-forming, and soldering. All materials and supplies provided.

Students will come away from this workshop with new knowledge of small metals and how to create simple works in copper as well as wonderful handmade pieces, including earrings, pendants and bracelets. Instruction will include hands on studio demonstrations, individual attention, and group discussions. 

Dates / Time:

Friday, March 17th 3:00 – 8:00 (1-hour break for dinner)
Saturday, March 18th from 9:00 – 4:00 (1-hour break for lunch)

Fee: $199 plus $20 materials fee. (Materials fee payable to Dana Finimore at class.)

Minimum class size: 6 / Maximum class size: 12
